Anmol Gagan Mann Kickstarts Sewage Project worth Rs 47 Crore at Kharar

Kharar : Punjab Tourism Minister and Kharar MLA, Anmol Gagan Mann, today, Kickstarted the much awaited Sewerage Project worth Rs 47.39 crore from ward number 13 in the presence of Chairman, Punjab Water Supply and Sewarage Board, Dr Sunny Singh Ahluwalia at Kharar city.
She said that the project pegged at Rs 47 Crore would resolve the pending issues of the Kharar residents who were in dire need of disposal of waste liquid water. The two phased project would have an STP at Khooni Majra besides a pumping station.
She said that it was a dream project for her in the constituency for which she was striving hard to make it practical. Expressing special thanks to Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann and Water Supply and Sewarage Board Chairman Dr Sunny Singh Ahluwalia, she said that apart from Sewerage Project, another coveted project of Surface drinking water supply from Kajauli is also in tendering stage that would be completed in next 8 months after getting successful bidder.
Similarly, projects worth Rs 61Crore (Rs 21 Crore tenders awarded while Rs 36 Crore being floated in next days besides Rs 1.76 Crore for open gyms in parks and 2.66 crore under Swachh Bharat Mission) for the Comprehensive development of the Kharar city have been set in motion by starting from ward number 16 today.
She said projects worth Rs 62.51 lakh have been initiated only for ward 16.She said for planned Development of the historical city Kharar, a town planner and waste management expert is being hired in coming days so that Kharar could emerge as a model city of Punjab.She assured the residents that there would be a change in the working of the Municipal Council by roping in the common residents by asking them their demands. The next proposal would be based on the demands of residents, she added.
She said that a market on the Heritage pattern would be developed in Kharar soon as a pilot project to follow the same for others after that.She said that the beautification project of Ajj Sarover would be completed by the Tourism Department in the coming days by developing it as a tourist place.
Chairman Punjab water supply and Sewerage Borad Dr Sunny Singh Ahluwalia while addressing the gathering on this occasion assured the Tourism Minister that Punjab Water Supply and Sewarage Board to complete the two prominent projects of sewerage and surface drinking water supply related to their department with in time so that the commitments made to the Kharar residents by her should be met in time.
Earlier while listening to the problems of the residents of Gilco Valley at ward number 16, she directed the EO MC Kharar Sukhdev Singh to issue notice with immediate effect for listing the short comings to the concerned developer.
She assure the Kharar residents that she would make the city a most developed and planned so that it can be emerged as a model city of Punjab. She said that we have a plenty of funds for the development of Kharar that would be ensured to spend honestly on the holistic development of Kharar City.The prominent persons present on the occasion included SDM Kharar Ravinder Singh, MCs and others.
