Shiv Pratap Shukla lauds efforts of CHETNA, an NGO for inclusive development of specially-abled children

Shimla : Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla while speaking as the Chief Guest during the Silver Jubilee function of Chetna organization at Vijaypur in Bilaspur district today, lauded its efforts towards welfare of specially abled and empowering women.The Governor said that the organization was instrumental in empowering the disabled, bringing qualitative change in their lives through various sports activities giving them equal opportunities in all fields.
Expressing contentment, he said that the organization was working dedicatedly to bring the specially-abled into the main stream of society.Expressing concern over the increasing illegal drug trade, he appealed to aware the society about the same and urged to start awareness campaigns in this direction and appealed to the parents to come forward and join hands with the government for eradicating the evil from the society up till the panchayat level.
“Taking an initiative in this direction, I have asked the universities to take an affidavit from students during admission not to take drugs and action will be taken if the students were found involved in drugs”, he said.He said that India was a young nation and there was a need to channelize the energy of youth in the right direction, only then India could become a developed Nation by 2047.
Under the Prime Ministership of Narendra Modi, all-round development of the country is being ensured and India is recognized globally for the progress and the fame it has earned under his leadership. He said that Himachal Pradesh was also moving on the path of development rapidly.
The Governor also presented the awards in different segments including Startup Youth Award, Farmer Award, Empowered Women Award, Best Vocational Training Award, Wool Industry-Weaver Award etc. He also honored the International players of the Chetna organization.The Governor also visited the exhibition and evinced keen interest in it.
Earlier, the Governor participated in the digital launch of the components of Multi-Disciplinary Education and Research Universities (MERU) and Grants for Strengthening Universities (GSU) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conferencing and expressed his gratitude to the Central Government for sanctioning funds under various components for these universities.
Dr. Mallika Nadda, National President of Special Olympics and founder of Chetna Sanstha welcomed the Governor and detailed about the activities of the organisation.Ruma Banerjee, Special Guest also spoke on the occasion. Purushottam Sharma, President, Chetna also welcomed the Governor.MLA J.R. Katwal, Director, AIIMS Bilaspur, Dr. Veer Singh Negi and other prominent people were also present on the occasion.

राज्यपाल ने दिव्यांगजनों के समावेशी विकास में चेतना संस्था के प्रयासों को सराहा
विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन पर पुरस्कार वितरित किए

राज्यपाल शिव प्रताप शुक्ल ने आज बिलासपुर जिला के विजयपुर में चेतना संस्था के रजत जयंती समारोह में बतौर मुख्य अतिथि भाग लिया। महिला सशक्तिकरण की दिशा में चेतना संस्था के प्रयासों की सराहना करते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि दिव्यांगजनों के प्रति समर्पित प्रयासों तथा कमजोर वर्गों के लिए केंद्र सरकार की योजनाओं के क्रियान्वयन में यह संस्था महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभा रही है।
राज्यपाल ने कहा कि चेतना संस्था की हिमाचल इकाई दिव्यांगजनों के समावेशी एवं सतत विकास में सराहनीय कार्य कर रही है। संस्था उनका सशक्तिकरण करते हुए दिव्यांगजनों को खेलों से जोड़कर उनके जीवन में सकारात्मक बदलाव लाने के साथ ही उन्हें समान अवसर, अधिकार और सम्मानित जीवन सुनिश्चित किया है जो सभी के लिए प्रेरक है। उन्होंने संतोष जताते हुए कहा कि संस्था दिव्यांगजनों को समाज की मुख्य धारा से जोड़ने के लिए समर्पित भावना से कार्य कर रही है।
हिमाचल में अपने एक साल के कार्यकाल के अनुभव साझा करते हुए राज्यपाल ने प्रदेश में नशे जैसी बुराई के खात्मे के लिए सामूहिक प्रयासों पर बल दिया। उन्होंने इसके लिए एक सघन जागरूकता अभियान आरम्भ करने का आग्रह करते हुए कहा कि पंचायत स्तर तक नशा मुक्ति के दृष्टिगत ऐसे बच्चों के माता-पिता को भी आगे आकर कार्य करना होगा।
उन्होंने कहा कि इस दिशा में पहल करते हुए विश्वविद्यालयों को दाखिले के समय छात्रों से नशा न करने संबंधी शपथ पत्र लेने के लिए कहा गया है। साथ ही नशाखोरी में शामिल छात्रों के विरूद्ध कड़ी कार्रवाई के निर्देश दिए गए हैं। उन्होंने नशे की बुराई के प्रति जागरूकता लाने के लिए प्रमुख स्थलों पर होर्डिंग इत्यादि लगाने की आवश्यकता पर भी बल दिया।
राज्यपाल ने कहा कि भारत युवाओं का देश है और इस युवा ऊर्जा का सही दिशा में उपयोग करने से ही भारत वर्ष-2047 तक एक विकसित देश बन सकेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि आज देश अपनी क्षमताओं में विश्वास जताते हुए उज्ज्वल भविष्य की ओर आगे बढ़ रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि एक छोटा राज्य होने के बावजूद हिमाचल तेजी से विकास पथ पर अग्रसर है।
इस अवसर पर राज्यपाल ने जन शिक्षण संस्थान के आत्मनिर्भर एवं सशक्त महिला पुरस्कार, सर्वश्रेष्ठ व्यावसायिक प्रशिक्षण, युवा स्टार्ट-अप, किसान और कृष्णा ऊन उद्योग-बिवाई पुरस्कार प्रदान किए। साथ ही चेतना संस्था के अन्तरराष्ट्रीय खिलाड़ियों को भी सम्मानित किया। इससे पूर्व राज्यपाल ने चेतना संस्था द्वारा लगाई प्रदर्शनी का अवलोकन किया।
राज्यपाल ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा बहु-विषयक शिक्षा एवं अनुसंधान विश्वविद्यालय और विश्वविद्यालयों के सुदृढ़ीकरण के लिए अनुदान के डिजिटल लॉन्च में भी वर्चुअल माध्यम से भाग लिया। चेतना संस्था की संस्थापक एवं विशेष ओलम्पिक की राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष डॉ. मल्लिका नड्डा ने राज्यपाल का स्वागत किया और संस्था की गतिविधियों पर विस्तृत जानकारी प्रदान की। उन्होंने कहा कि संस्था नशे से बचाव के दृष्टिगत युवाओं के लिए एक विशेष अभियान भी चला रही है।
चेतना संस्था के अध्यक्ष पुरूषोतम शर्मा, विशेष अतिथि रूमा बनर्जी ने भी इस अवसर पर अपने विचार रखे। संस्था के उपाध्यक्ष मनोज शर्मा ने धन्यवाद प्रस्ताव प्रस्तुत किया। इस अवसर पर एक सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम भी प्रस्तुत किया गया। विधायक जीत राम कटवाल, पूर्व मंत्री राजेंद्र गर्ग, राज्यपाल के सचिव राजेश शर्मा, अखिल भारतीय आयुर्विज्ञान संस्थान बिलासपुर के निदेशक डॉ. वीर सिंह नेगी सहित प्रशासनिक अधिकारी व गणमान्य इस अवसर पर उपस्थित थे।
