SSP reiterates to resolve issues,if any, of martyrs families on priority

 Observing 61st police commemoration day here, the District Police on Wednesday reiterated to address the issues, if any, of martyrs families on priority.The Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait, Senior Superintendent of police Navjot Singh Mahal and other officers paid rich tributes to police personnel, who were martyred while discharging their duties.Recalling the services rendered by the brave hearts in line with their duties, the Deputy Commissioner mentioned that Punjab being a sword arm of the country had always been at forefront to protect the country from internal as well as external aggression. She said that the Punjab police had played a pivotal role in restoring the peace in the region, which would always instill a sense of nationalism and patriotism amongst our youngsters. She said that the Police Commemoration Day is celebrated on October 21

She said that the Police Commemoration Day is celebrated on October 21 every year to remember our ten brave-hearts CRPF soldiers, who martyred in an ambush by the Chinese force at Hotspring area of Laddakh on this day in 1959.
Paying glowing tributes to the martyrs, SSP Navjot Singh Mahal pointed out that the supreme sacrifices made by police personnel would ever be remembered by one and all as our martyred protected the country from inimical forces and nefarious designs to destabilise the hard-earned peace. He said that directions had already been issued to all police officers to give priority to the issues pertaining to the families of martyrs and that too within minimal time.The SSP said that from September 1, 2019, to August 31, 2020, as many as 264 police officers/officials had laid their lives across country in line with their duty.Meanwhile, the names of all the martyrs were read out by the DSP Tanda Daljit Singh Khakh. The SSP also inspected the guard of honour led by the parade commander DSP Gurpreet Singh.Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included SP (Headquarter) Raminder Singh, SP (Investigation) Ravinderpal Singh Sandhu, ASP Garshankar Tushar Gupta, DSP Dasuya Manish Kumar, DSP City Jagdish Raj Attri, DSP Mukerian Ravinder Singh and others .
