MLA Honours Panchayat For 100 Percent Vaccination, Kickstarts ‘Thankyou Captain’ Campaign

Hoshiarpur :  Describing CM’s announcement of Rs. 10 lakh as special grant to villages with 100 percent vaccination an encouraging step to contain further spread of COVID in rural belts, the Chabbewal MLA Dr. Raj Kumar on Thursday honoured the panchayat of village Nawan Jattpur in his constituency for becoming first village to get all eligible beneficiaries vaccinated. The MLA also kick start ‘Thankyou Captain’ campaign to boost panchayats for vaccination as the cases of infections were rising in rural areas.While presenting a Siropa (robe of honour) to Nawan Jattpur Sarpanch Ritu and SMO Harta Badla Dr. Raj Kumar Badhan, the MLA said that besides the said village the panchayats of Punga and Punj had also get their all eligible beneficiaries inoculated. The credit of 100 percent vaccination goes to Distric Administration, village panchayats, health teams and beneficiaries, said the MLA adding that amid current severe health crisis all panchayats and villagers should come forward for vaccination in larger public interest as the Case Fatality Rate was three time higher in rural areas against urban belts.Dr. Raj Kumar stated that the initiative of Chief Minister for giving Rs. 10 lakh as special grant would not only ensure the complete inoculation but also give a new pace to the ongoing development in the villages.
Elaborating about the steps being taken by Punjab Government under its Mission Fateh-2, Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal said that health teams were visiting all the villages for completion of vaccination as early as possible besides providing all requisite medical assistance, medicines, fateh kits, sanitisers and masks. He said that residents of rural areas should not hesitate or show any sort of reluctance in getting them vaccinated as the vaccine is must amid current COVID situation. “Being a doctor, I can understand the gravity of the situation that’s why I, along with administrative officials and health teams, personally visiting various villages to motivate the people and boost the morale of the teams administering vaccine. Unified efforts can helpful to easily beat the corona virus thus saving numerous precious lives so all of us must work jointly in fight against COVID-19 pandemic,” urged Dr. Raj.Thanking Punjab Government and District Administration, Sarpanch Ritu congratulated health teams and village residents for achieving the task of 100 percent vaccination. She also appealed the other villages to ensure vaccination of all eligible beneficiaries as early as possible. Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included BDPO Abhay Kumar, Dr. Raja Rak, Sarpanch village Jattpur Prem Chand, Mahinder Singh, GOG Mohinder Singh, Panches including Jasvir Singh, Jai Deep Singh, Anuradha, Narinder Kumar, Seema. Apart from these Kamal Khosla, Rajnish Gulyani, Sandeep Gautam were also present.
