Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains Pays Surprise Visit to Summer Camp
Interacts with the future of Punjab, Reiterates commitment to improve standards of Government Schools to outsmart Private Schools

S.A.S. Nagar : Punjab School Education Minister, Harjot Singh Bains reiterated Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government’s commitment to transform government schools of state to outsmart private schools.
During his surprise visit to Government Smart Primary School and Government Smart Middle School, Phase-2, Mohali, the Minister reviewed the ongoing summer camps and expressed happiness over the activities being learned by the students.
Interacting with the students of various classes, he discussed about activity based learning and their experience during the summer vacation and summer camp. He was quite elated to see that the little students have been showing keen interest in summer camps and they were trying to learn new things.
He said that the school education department is organising summer camps from July 3 to 15 for the students of Pre-primary to Middle so that the learning by activities and other methods would be promoted. He said the teachers of government schools are doing their best to devise new innovative the techniques of learning and creative ideas are being adopted to make the curriculum more interesting.
He said the school of eminence would prove a breakthrough in the history of education in Punjab as the students would be honed in such a way by the experienced and dedicated teachers to enable them to gain a lot beyond the syllabus. They would be prepared for competitive exams also, he added.
The Education Minister added that the department has assigned a budget of Rs 5.06 Crores for these summer camps in order to procure material for the pupils. The camps would enhance their confidence level and inculcate sense of creativity besides bringing out hidden talent.
“In the summer camps, students will be given activities related to intellectual activities, health care, sports, art craft, fundamental values, mathematics, environmental education and language skills,”, further added.
