Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO visits Talwandi Sabo Thermal Plant, one unit starts production

Remaining 2 units will be made operational by Wednesday Afternoon, Says, people of state will not face any power shortage

Mansa : Punjab Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO on Tuesday said that one of the three shutdown units of Talwandi Sabo Thermal Plant has started production and the other 2 units would also be operational within a day.
He assured the people of the state that despite such technical problems, the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will not let the people of the state face any power shortage.
Power Minister visited Talwandi Sabo Thermal Plant along with CMD PSPCL Baldev Singh Sran, Director Generation Paramjeet Singh, and MLA Banawali Gurpreet Singh to take stock of the situation.
After reviewing the situation, Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO said that unit number 3 of the thermal plant has been made operational and was producing 600 megawatts of power.The Minister further added that unit number 1 and 2 of this thermal plant would likely be made operational by Wednesday afternoon.
He said that the administration of Talwandi Sabo Thermal Plant was told to ensure that the operations related to the repair or maintenance of the thermal plant should be done during the winter season but this problem has arisen because of a lack on their part. He said that the administration of the thermal plant has been asked to take special care of this matter in the future.
Assuring the common people and especially the farmers that they will be no power shortage in the state, Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said that alternative power arrangements have already been made by the department in advance to deal with any such technical problem.
He said that it was all due to the measures taken in advance that the record highest demand of 15325 MW power was also met this year
