Guest lecture on Unlocking the Gender Dividend in Startups at RBU
An informative and inspiring guest lecture on “Unlocking the Gender Dividend in Startups, Innovation and Technology” was organised by the University School of Agricultural Sciences (USAS) in collaboration with the NSS Department of Rayat Bahra University. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about entrepreneurship, innovation, and emerging opportunities in the startup ecosystem, particularly in the fields of agriculture and technology.
The event brought together faculty members and students to explore how innovation and gender inclusion can contribute to sustainable development and economic growth. The programme began with a warm welcome to the keynote speaker, Neha Arora, Chief Operating Officer, North Zone S&T Cluster, by Dr. (Prof.) Amita Mahajan, Dean, University School of Agricultural Sciences, Rayat Bahra University.
A ceremonial lamp-lighting marked the formal inauguration of the session and symbolised the spirit of knowledge, learning, and innovation. In her welcome address, Dr. Amita Mahajan highlighted the growing importance of innovation and startup culture among young students.
She encouraged them to develop creative and practical ideas that could contribute to advancements in agriculture and technology, emphasizing that universities play a crucial role in nurturing entrepreneurial thinking and leadership. Delivering the keynote lecture, Neha Arora explained the concept of startups, innovation, and the expanding role of technology in modern entrepreneurship.
She shared valuable insights on how students can convert innovative ideas into successful ventures through research, creativity, and effective planning. She also discussed several government initiatives and support systems available for young entrepreneurs.
Students actively participated in the interactive session, making the event engaging, insightful, and highly informative. Director NCC/NSS Prof. (Major) A.S. Chahal along with other faculty members were also present on this occasion.
