Devendra Fadnavis Directs Creation of ‘War Room’ for Ease of Doing Business Reforms in Maharashtra

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today chaired a high-level meeting at Sahyadri Guest House, Mumbai to review measures under the Global Import-Export Policy aimed at boosting Maharashtra’s Ease of Doing Business.

During the meeting, CM Fadnavis directed the creation of an independent ‘War Room’ to implement 100 targeted reforms in the state’s business ecosystem. He also announced that he would personally review the progress of these reforms every month.

The Chief Minister stressed that while attracting new industries is vital, equal focus must be given to supporting the growth of existing industries. He emphasized empowering the Single Window Portal for industrial clearances so that approvals are granted without delay. 

Highlighting agricultural entrepreneurship, he proposed that no special permissions should be required for agriculture-related industries operating on up to 5 hectares of land. “Our goal is to simplify processes, cut red tape, and ensure industry-friendly governance that fuels both investment and employment. Every reform must lead to real progress for entrepreneurs on the ground,” CM Fadnavis asserted.

Key Reforms Already Implemented in Maharashtra:

✅ First state in India to issue permanent fire licenses for industries.

✅ Passed the Friendship Act 2023 for industrial growth.

✅ Introduced Single Window System for industrial electricity connections.

✅ Electricity connections made possible with just two documents.

✅ Launched Building Plan Management System for industrial construction.

✅ Introduced MIDC Land Allotment Portal for transparent land acquisition.

Reforms to be Implemented:

✅ Creation of a statewide land bank to facilitate industrial projects.

✅ Faster and transparent land allotment processes.

✅ Environmental clearances within 60 days.

✅ District-level investment promotion systems.

✅ Dedicated Export Portal to boost exports.

✅ Launch of ‘One Taluka, One Cluster’ initiative to promote group-based industrial development.

The meeting highlighted Maharashtra’s commitment to building a transparent, efficient, and globally competitive business environment. Senior government officials and departmental heads were present during the discussions.
