Presides over Interactive Session on the Role of Youth in Developed India in NIT Hamirpur

Hamirpur : Vice President of India, Jagdeep Dhankhar said that he was impressed by simplicity and culture of the people of Himachal Pradesh and would like to visit the State time and again. The Vice President was speaking during the inaugural ceremony of the 500th center of the ‘Ek Se Shrestha’ organization at the Police Line Ground in Hamirpur today.
Vice President’s wife Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar was also present on the occasion.The Vice-President said that India’s was rapidly progressing and have become the fifth largest economy in the world and soon it will be the third most economically powerful and progressive Nation. B
y 2047 India will the most developed Nation asserted he, and every citizen of the country was required to contribute in its development.Shri Dhankhar said that the work done in the country in last one decade was incomparable numerous initiatives have been taken for women empowerment.
A society prospers when the women folk are empowered and the Nari Shakti Vandan Act will prove effective in this direction. The Vice President praised Union Minister Anurag Thakur for successfully running various social projects.
On this occasion, he presented tablets to five teachers under the programme and also distributed school bags to the students. Earlier, the school children honored the Vice President and his wife Dr. Sudesh Dhankhar as per Himachali tradition and customs.
Later, while presiding over the interactive session ‘Role of Youth in Developed India 2047’ organized at National Institute of Technology Hamirpur, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar said that the youth need to look beyond the challenges. He said that education is a medium which can bring revolutionary changes in the lives of youth.
He said that the biggest challenge before him was Artificial Intelligence. On this occasion, he had a detailed discussion on various topics like women empowerment. He invited the students of National Institute of Technology to visit the Parliament House.He said that India is the youngest nation in the world. By using this demographic dividend well, we can take India forward as a developed India.
Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla welcomed the Vice President and said that this program was an excellent example of the initiatives of social concern and human values. He lauded the efforts of Union Minister Anurag Thakur for running such social projects. He said that he will adopt such five centers under the programme.
The visit to this newly inaugurated 500th center reflects its unwavering commitment towards its mission of upliftment, empowerment and transformation of lives.” The impact of Ek Se Shreshtha can’t be measured in numbers but is to feel the changes it has made in the lives of many individuals.
The Governor said that this is a meaningful initiative to ensure access to quality education to students and provide holistic development which ensures that quality education remains the birth right of every child coming from any economic background.
He also congratulated the dedicated team, visionary leadership, enthusiastic volunteers and hardworking employees behind Ek Se Shrestha and said that their selfless dedication was the driving force behind the success of Ek Se Shrestha.
Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Thakur welcomed the Vice President and the Governor on this occasion. This is a unique initiative towards the overall development of the students, under which assistance is being provided to the students studying in government schools up to the village and panchayat level.
He said that more than 9000 children study in these centers. He said that the inspiration behind starting this program was that of his father, former Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal. More than 95 percent of the teachers working in these centers are women, he said.
While speaking during the interactive session ‘Role of Youth in Developed India 2047’ organized at National Institute of Technology Hamirpur, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that the Amrit Kaal will take Bharat to new height in times to come.
The contribution of every person will be important in transforming this nation from a developing one to a developed one. He said that the 21st century will belong to India because the country was moving towards being the most powerful nation of the world.
Cabinet Minister Rajesh Dharmani said that the state government has taken many important steps to deal with the natural disaster in the state and to rehabilitate the affected families. He said that there was still more work to be done for providing relief to the disaster affected for which he urged the Vice President to cooperate in providing generous financial assistance to the state by the Central Government.
Earlier, Director and Chairman of the Governing Council of the National Institute of Technology, Prof. Hiralal Muralidhar Suryavanshi welcomed the Vice President and other dignitaries present on the occasion.
