DC Ganderbal reviews functioning of OSC

Ganderbal : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal who is also the Chairman of Management Committee of Sakhi One Stop Centre for women today reviewed the functioning of One Stop Centre (OSC) in the district.During the meeting the concerned briefed the DC about the functioning of OSC presently established at HOPE Disability Centre, (NGO) Wayil Ganderbal through Power Point presentation.On the occasion, threadbare discussion was held regarding the facilities provided to the aggrieved women at the centre.The officials of the NGO informed that the centre also assists the aggrieved women and children by providing police assistance, medical aid, psycho-social counseling, legal aid etc. under one roof.The DC urged upon all stakeholders to create awareness about the functioning and facilities available at the OSC so that the people will get a clear knowledge about the working of OSC for the empowerment of women and their welfare. He said that by establishing OSC and providing counseling sessions will surely boost morale and brings lasting confidence among distressed victims and reiterated that district administration will take all possible steps to eradicate this menace of social injustice particularly domestic abuses and violence that are on rise at present.Meanwhile, it was informed that the purpose of One Stop Center is to provide integrated services to women affected by domestic violence, dowry abuse, mental torture, sexual assault, eve teasing, cyber-crime, rape, economical violence or any other violence both in private and public places under one roof.The meeting was attended by all committee members including ASP, CPO, PO ICDS, CMO, Tehsildar Ganderbal and members from Civil Society.
