DDC Doda holds meeting to discuss Capex Budget Plan for 2023-24

Doda : District Development Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan held a meeting today with district officers to discuss the formulation of the District Capex Budget plan for 2023-24.

During the meeting, the DDC asked the Superintending Engineers of PWD, JSD and PDD to revisit their submitted plans and provide details on all proposed works within two days. He also emphasised the importance of combining similar works for single tendering to avoid delays and lapses in funding.

The DDC discussed work plans submitted by various departments. It was reported that PWD had proposed 26 works at an estimated cost of Rs 2.8 crore. Plans for other departments such as JSD, JPDCL and Irrigation were also discussed.

The departments were directed to focus on projects that would benefit the most people and could be completed within a stipulated time frame. He also advised them to use convergence to execute desired works within limited resources.

The group also discussed crucial works such as repair and augmentation of water filtration plants, drainage and parking in towns and repair of health and educational institutions. Directions were given to improve these basic amenities for the convenience of the general public under the Capex Budget for 2023-24.

In addition, there was a threadbare discussion on key centrally sponsored schemes that are part of the District Development Plan. These included Area Development Fund, MGNREGA and Jal Jeevan Mission. The group also discussed plans under ADP/PRI grants received.

Ongoing works under ADP and District Capex were also discussed. Directions were given to complete these works within a given time frame so that assets could be dedicated to the public.

Among those present were Additional District Development Commissioner, Pran Singh; CPO, Suresh Kumar and Executive Engineers of PWD, JSD, REW and JPDCL.
