Arrest Three Smugglers, Seize 800 Gm Heroin And Rs 80000/- Drug Money From A Scooty

Kapurthala : In its campaign to eliminate drug menace, The District Police on Tuesday busted a drug racket in which three accused were transporting Heroin concealed in a scooty by arresting three smugglers and seized 800 GM Heroin and Rs 80000/- ILdrug money from their possession.The arrested accused have been identified as Jyon Singh s/o Balwant Singh r/o Toti Sultanpur Lodhi, district Rupnagar, Ninder Kaur d/o Jyon Singh r/o Toti Sultanpur Lodhi and Bejaya Badra w/o Raja Badra, r/o 5/235 Gandhi Colony Regent State Calcutta.Disclosing more information, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh said that the police teams of CIA consisting of Insp Balwinder Singh formed under the supervision of SP D Vishaljit Singh and DSP/D Sarbjit Rai to keep a vigil on the activities of anti-social elements in the district.During checking CIA staff SI Nirmal Singh along with police party was patrolling near Sardar Swaran Singh National Institute main gate, GT Road Jalandhar- Kapurthala, then they noticed one suspicious white Scooty being driven by a cut surd boy having two ladies on board coming towards them.

After seeing police party, he suddenly took U-turn and tried to flee the place but fell down, and they dropped polythenes envelope from their pockets on the ground. The police party veered towards them and during checking found Heroin in these envelopes. Then police party has arrested the accused and during frisking seized 80000/- from the scooty.The police team has registered a case against them under relevant sections of the NDPS Act at police station Sadar Kapurthala.During the interrogation, Bijaya Dhara said that after recovering 400 grams of heroin, she had sent to jail in case FIR No. 146 dated 17-10-2019, u/s 21-61-85 NDPS Act, police station, Maqsooda district, Jalandhar. She has been released from jail on 01/09/2021. Inside the jail, he met Jion Singh’s daughter Smitar Kaur, who is serving a 10-year sentence in the NDPS Act case, who had contacted her father Jian Singh and sister Ninder Kaur. SSP told that the arrested smugglers would be produced before the magistrate by the Police and police remand of them would be sought to further investigate the matter.Efforts are on the identify the supply line and each and every person involved in the chain would be arrested,” added the SSP.
