Amaravati : Today, VIT-AP University organized a program showcasing student achievements in campus placements and higher education. The event underscored the crucial role of the Career Development Centre (CDC) in guiding and training students for placements in leading companies both in India and abroad.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. G. Viswanathan – Founder & Chancellor, VIT said that the Career Development Centre (CDC) plays a vital role in creating the illustrious placement record of VIT. It ensures smooth functioning of campus placements activities in the campus.
The centre also facilitates training activities for the students to ensure that they get placed with national and multinational companies as well. VIT-AP also has a dedicated CDC which works in coherence with VIT centralized career development centre for the enhancement of the student’s skills and aptitude.
The VIT Supported Advancement of Rural Students (STARS) program aims to provide quality higher education opportunities to underprivileged rural students. This initiative offers a 100% fee waiver covering academic, hostel, and basic medical expenses, enabling these students to achieve their potential.
In this graduating batch, STARS achieved a 100% placement rate at VIT and approximately 90% at VIT-AP, spanning national and multinational companies. These opportunities are expected to uplift the living standards of the families involved.
Dr. V. Samuel Raj Kumar, the Director of the Career Development Centre, highlighted that the VIT centralized CDC remains dedicated in providing students an array of options to secure positions with their preferred companies during both their pre-final and final years of study. By organizing sessions with experienced trainers and VIT alumni, the centre assists students in honing their skills for placement interviews, encompassing both technical and HR dimensions, as well as effectively preparing them for group discussions.
The CDC ensures students acquire proficiency in coding and aptitude, enhancing their performance in tests and interviews. Each year, various recruiting companies visit the campus, initiating the placement process for a diverse array of job opportunities.
Numerous students secure placements through Super Dream Offers (more than 10 lakhs PA), while others secure positions through Dream Offers (more than 6 lakhs PA) and Regular Offers. Over the years, reputed companies like Alstom, Intel, Microsoft, EBay, MOTORQ, Amazon, AMD, Adobe, ABB, Dell, GE, Intuit, J P Morgan, pwc, Texas Instruments, Schneider Electric, Paloalto, DE Shaw & Co, Hitachi, HP, Shell, PayPal, Tata Motors, L&T, Dr. Reddy’s, Bosch, Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, Qualcomm, Ashok Leyland, Honda, Ford, Global Analytics, TCS, Cognizant, Accenture, Wipro and Yokogawa have their recruits from VIT.
During the academic year 2022-2023, the CDC facilitated interactions with over 900 companies, hosting approximately 14500 on-campus placement opportunities. Impressively, 4500 Super dream, 3500 Dream and 6500 Regular job offers approximately, reflecting the effectiveness of the centre’s efforts.
The pinnacle of this achievement was marked by a remarkable offer of 1.02 Crore per annum from MOTORQ, setting a new high for placement offers. Dr. S.V Kota Reddy, the Vice Chancellor, expressed his delight in witnessing the trust placed in our students by leading companies nationwide and on the global stage.
He attributed this remarkable achievement to the unwavering dedication of our students and the university’s commitment to providing exemplary education. Looking ahead, we are dedicated to forging even stronger partnerships with industry leaders, with the goal of nurturing socially conscious and responsible leaders who will leave a positive and lasting impact on our world.
The campus placements for the graduating batch 2023 realized a significant achievement with a total of 1021 students successfully securing the placement. Total offers secured by students 1560 which encompass an impressive 384 super dream offers and 360 dream offers.
Notably, the highest package extended at VIT-AP by an MNC is Rs.34.4 LPA. Moreover, this 2023 graduating batch’s average salary has also witnessed a substantial rise, climbing to Rs.7.20 LPA from the previous batch Rs.6.39 LPA.
This remarkable outcome was made possible through the participation of over 900 recruiters in VIT Placements 2022-23, encompassing a diverse array of industries, with approximately 100 core companies and a significant representation of around 800 IT companies.
On the other hand, a promising trend is evident as more than 150 students eagerly prepare to embark on their journey of higher education through Master’s program at prestigious universities worldwide. Among this group, a majority has secured admissions to esteemed institutions including Arizona State University, California State University, Deakin University, University of Central Missouri, Northeastern University, Florida International University, Indiana University, and The George Washington University etc.
Dr. Jagadish Chandra Mudiganti, the Registrar highlighted that VIT-AP stands out as a highly sought-after campus among recruiters nationwide, attributed to its exceptional pool of remarkably talented individuals showcasing noteworthy technical prowess. VIT-AP’s distinctiveness extends to its diversity, as each batch boasts an impressive representation of female candidates who have achieved exceptional placements with leading companies.
