Chandigarh-Punjab Union of Journalists forms Human Chain on May Day

Chandigarh : The Chandigarh-Punjab Union of Journalists (CPUJ) organized labour day at Sector – 17 Plaza to recall sacrifices of the people who gave up their lives for the cause of working class. On this occasion a large number of journalists formed a human chain by holding hands of one another to press their genuine demands.
While addressing the journalists CPUJ President, Mr. Vinod Kohli, demanded inclusion of electronic media in the purview of the Press Council by renaming it as the Media Council. This he said, would help in addressing the issues related to the electronic media.
Earlier he demanded from Chandigarh administration the introduction of Pension scheme for journalists including journalists working on desk.

ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ-ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਅਨ ਆਫ ਜਰਨਲਿਸਟ (ਸੀਪੀਯੂਜੇ) ਨੇ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰ ਵਰਗ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਜਾਨਾਂ ਨਿਛਾਵਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸੈਕਟਰ-17 ਪਲਾਜ਼ਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰ ਦਿਵਸ ਮਨਾਇਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਚੇਨ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਹੱਕੀ ਮੰਗਾਂ ਮੰਨਣ ’ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸੀਪੀਯੂਜੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਵਿਨੋਦ ਕੋਹਲੀ ਨੇ ਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰਾਨਿਕ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਦੇ ਦਾਇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਬਦਲ ਕੇ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰਾਨਿਕ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਲ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਤੋਂ ਡੈਸਕ ਵਰਕਿੰਗ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਪੈਨਸ਼ਨ ਸਕੀਮ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਮੰਗ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ।

चंडीगढ़-पंजाब यूनियन ऑफ जर्नलिस्ट्स (सीपीयूजे) ने मजदूर वर्ग के लिए अपनी जान देने वाले लोगों के बलिदान को याद करने के लिए सेक्टर-17 प्लाजा में मजदूर दिवस मनाया। इस अवसर पर बड़ी संख्या में पत्रकारों ने एक-दूसरे का हाथ थामकर मानव श्रृंखला बनाई और अपनी जायज मांगों पर जोर दिया।
पत्रकारों को संबोधित करते हुए सीपीयूजे के अध्यक्ष विनोद कोहली ने इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मीडिया को प्रेस काउंसिल के दायरे में शामिल करने की मांग की और इसका नाम बदलकर मीडिया काउंसिल करने की मांग की। उन्होंने कहा कि इससे इलेक्ट्रॉनिक मीडिया से जुड़े मुद्दों को सुलझाने में मदद मिलेगी। इससे पहले उन्होंने चंडीगढ़ प्रशासन से डेस्क पर काम करने वाले पत्रकारों सहित पत्रकारों के लिए पेंशन योजना शुरू करने की भी मांग की।
