Chandigarh : To give benefits to the ASHA workers of the state under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, Haryana Home and Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij has directed the officers of the department to study the matter and submit the report soon.Sh. Vij said this during a meeting with officers and Asha worker delegation here late evening.The Health Minister said that if ASHA workers leave their work voluntarily after working for at least 10 years or given retirement from work after 60 years of age as per the rules of the government, then they will be given a lump sum amount of Rs. 20 thousand. He informed that till now 108 ASHA workers in the state are eligible for an amount of Rs. 20 thousand, out of which 89 have been relieved after 60 years of age and 19 ASHA workers have left after 10 years. He said that 71 ASHA workers were given an amount of 20 thousand rupees, 23 ASHA workers were under process, while 24 would be made available soon after district-wise investigation.
Sh.Vij also directed the officers that a comparative study between Anganwadi workers and Asha workers should be done and their report should be submitted. He said that ASHA workers should be provided registers for the activities of ASHA for record maintenance soon.

Sh. Vij said that during Corona, Asha workers have done door-to-door work to make people aware. So far 4 Asha workers have died in the state due to the infection of covid-19, out of which compensation amount of Rs. 50 lakh each to the families of two deceased Asha workers (one each from Panchkula and Ambala) by the Government of India and compensation amount of three lakh rupees has been provided by the state government. Cases of other two ASHA workers (one each in Gurugram and Kaithal) are under process and their families will also be provided compensation soon.
On a demand of ASHA workers, he said that according to the announcement of incentive amount of Rs. 5 thousand by the Chief Minister, the list of 20012 ASHA workers along with their family identity cards has been given to the Citizen Resource Information Department for verification. He said that as soon as the data of all ASHA workers will be verified in the utility module being prepared by the Citizen Resource Information Department (CRID), after that this amount will be deposited in the bank accounts of ASHA workers.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Health Department Sh. Rajiv Arora, Mission Director of NHM Prabhjot Singh and other officers of the department were present in the meeting.
