10 thousand stray cattle to be provided with shelter by March 2021: Virender Kanwar
Animal Husbandry Minister Virender Kanwar presided over the 2nd meeting of Gau Sewa Aayog. He directed the authorities to complete the construction work of cow shelter and cow sanctuaries by February 2021, so that 10 thousand stray cattle could be provided with shelter and streets of the state could be made free from stray cattle. He directed the authorities to expedite ongoing work, to make the roads of state free from stray cattle by January,2022.Virender Kanwar directed to expedite the construction work of seven cow sanctuaries in district Kangra and to provide shelter to stray cattle. He asked the authorities to complete the process of identification of land for construction of cow sanctuaries in other districts as well. He said that Lift Assembly Vehicles would be bought to lift the injured cows.Additional Chief Secretary Animal Husbandry Nisha Singh, Director Animal Husbandry Dr. Ajmer Dogra, Vice Chairman Gau Sewa Sadan and Official and non official members of Aayog were also present in the meeting.
