Second randomization of Electronic Voting Machines was done in the presence of General Observer

As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the second randomization of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to be used in the bye-election of Assembly Constituency 021-Tarn Taran was done today through the Election Commission’s software in the presence of General Observer Smt. Pushpa Satyani, IAS, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Tarn Taran Mr. Rahul, IAS, Returning Officer of Assembly Constituency 021-Tarn Taran Mr. Gurmeet Singh, PCS. 

This entire process was done in the presence of representatives of political parties. While randomizing the electronic voting machines, District Election Officer Mr. Rahul said that there are a total of 222 polling stations in the assembly constituency of Tarn Taran and 120 percent Ballot Unit (BU) and Control Unit (CU) and 130 percent VVPAT machines have been given out of the number of polling booths in the constituency so that they have a reserve quota in case of malfunction of any machine. 

He said that during today’s randomization, polling booths have been allotted to the electronic voting machines. He said that as per the instructions of the Honorable Election Commission, the bye-election will be conducted in a free and peaceful atmosphere.

On this occasion Election Tehsildar S. Arminderpal Singh, independent candidate Mrs. Harbrinder Kaur Usma, independent candidate Bhai Mandeep Singh, BJP representative Vivek Agarwal, Captain Sandeep Singh Sandhu from the Congress party and other leaders were also present.
