Yudhvir Sethi highlights role of NSS, calls for Nasha Mukt Bharat at GSRM School Event

Senior BJP leader and MLA Jammu East, Yudhvir Sethi, today emphasized the transformative role of the National Service Scheme (NSS) in shaping responsible citizens committed to nation-building. He was speaking at a vibrant and inspiring ceremony held at Government Sri Ranbir Model Higher Secondary School, Jammu, celebrating education, service, and student achievements.

Addressing the students and staff, Shri Yudhvir Sethi stated that NSS is not merely a student activity, but a national mission that instills discipline, leadership, and a deep sense of social responsibility among youth. 

He said that through NSS, students are given an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to society, develop empathy, and emerge as change-makers. “NSS volunteers are the torchbearers of a stronger, more united India,” he remarked.

Focusing on the importance of a drug-free lifestyle, Shri Yudhvir Sethi strongly advocated for the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan. He cautioned students against the dangers of substance abuse and emphasized the role of education in building awareness. 

“School ki dharohar ke ujjwal bhavishya ke liye humein nasha se door rehna hoga,” he stated, urging students to become ambassadors of a healthy and productive future. The senior BJP leader applauded the school management for nurturing talent and promoting civic values, acknowledging the commendable efforts of both teachers and students in maintaining the institution’s historic legacy. 

He urged the youth to actively participate in community service, calling it the backbone of a progressive society. Earlier, the MLA was respectfully escorted by the school’s NCC cadets and warmly welcomed by students and staff. He distributed NSS kits, including uniforms, to student volunteers.

The function began with a soulful rendition of the Ranbir Anthem by students, followed by the presentation of a green planter to the Chief Guest by Principal Dr. Kishor Sharma, symbolizing growth and sustainability.

Dr. Kishor Sharma, who took charge as Principal just four months ago, welcomed the Chief Guest and all attendees. He highlighted the school’s ongoing progress and its commitment to holistic education under his leadership.

Mr. Rajeev Sharma, Senior Lecturer (Chemistry), used the occasion to respectfully present key demands for the betterment of the school. His remarks reflected the collective aspirations of the school community for continued development and government support.

The event concluded with the felicitation of meritorious students from Classes 10 and 11, followed by the National Anthem, resonant slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” and a salute by the NCC squad, filling the atmosphere with pride and unity.

In his concluding remarks, the MLA assured the gathering that all genuine concerns and demands raised by the school administration would be taken up on priority. He praised the school’s leadership, discipline, and community spirit, and encouraged students to continue striving for excellence in all walks of life.
