Wrestlers will make the nation proud at the international wrestling championship : Gaurav Gautam

Haryana Sports Minister, Sh. Gaurav Gautam expressed confidence that the victorious wrestlers of the National Wrestling Championship held in Palwal will bring laurels to the country by winning medals at the upcoming international wrestling championship in Vietnam.
Sh. Gautam visited the three-day Under-17 National Wrestling Championship being held at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium in Palwal, organised jointly by Chandigarh UT Wrestling Association and the Wrestling Federation of India, to encourage the participating wrestlers.
The Minister said that Haryana’s athletes are making their mark across the globe. Players have brought glory not only to the country but also to the world. Haryana emerged as the overall champion in both boys’ and girls’ freestyle wrestling at the National Wrestling Championship held in Palwal. In the girls’ category, Haryana’s daughters clinched 7 out of 10 gold medals.
Additionally, the boys won 5 out of 10 gold medals, shining the name of the state.The Sports Minister said that Haryana has now become a hub for sports and athletes. He appealed to the youth of Palwal district to actively participate in sports and bring glory to the state and the nation at national and international levels.
Sh. Gautam said that hosting a national-level wrestling competition in Palwal is a matter of pride and honour for both the district and the state.President, Wrestling Federation of India, Sh. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Vice President, Wrestling Federation of India UT, Sh. Darshan Lal, Treasurer, Wrestling Federation of India Dr. SP Deshwal and many other dignitaries also remained present.
On the second day of the Under-17 National Wrestling Championship, freestyle competitions were held in various weight categories for girls. In the 40 kg category, Cheshta from Haryana won gold, Preeti Yadav from Uttar Pradesh secured silver, and Disha (Delhi) and Snehal (Maharashtra) shared the bronze. In the 43 kg category, Rachna from Haryana bagged gold, Subhadra Yadav from Chhattisgarh took silver, and Khushi (Delhi) and Anushka (Maharashtra) jointly won bronze. In the 46 kg category, Rutuja from Maharashtra claimed gold, Aditi Kumari from Delhi won silver, and Kashish Gurjar (Rajasthan) and Pooja (Haryana) shared the bronze medal.
