Vikrant Massey Inspires Thousands at LPU’s “Voices of Bharat” with His Candid Reflections and Life Lessons

One of the most versatile and renowned actor of Indian cinema, Vikrant Massey, stepped into Lovely Professional University (LPU) for the “Voices of Bharat” event, captivating thousands of students and faculty with his grounded charm, inspiring journey, and heartfelt reflections. Addressing the audience, Vikrant shared his admiration for LPU and the deep personal connection he holds with the university stating, “I’ve always had a connect with LPU my close relatives have studied and are currently studying here.
I’ve seen this campus virtually so many times and was always amazed by how massive and green it looked. I used to wonder what it would be like to experience it in person—and today, I finally did,” he said. “It’s incredible that India is home to such a university, and I’m truly grateful for this opportunity to meet the brightest minds of our country.”
Delving into his career journey, Massey reflected on his early start in acting at the age of 16, with a decade-long career in television before transitioning to films. “I knew I wanted more. And any thought without action is pointless. So, I took the first step,” he said, recalling the leap of faith that led him into the world of cinema.
“The journey wasn’t easy, but it was absolutely worth it.” More than just sharing his professional milestones, Vikrant emphasized the importance of holistic development. “Your profession is only one part of life.
What matters most is the kind of person you become,” he said, urging students to continuously unlearn and grow. “Just like you update your gadgets, you must also update yourself. Education isn’t just about academics but it’s about becoming better humans.”
The event was graced by Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, along with Dr. Col. Rashmi Mittal, Pro Chancellor of LPU. Applauding Massey’s journey, Dr. Ashok Mittal remarked, “It was inspiring to hear Vikrant story with such clarity, depth, and conviction.
His journey is a reminder that taking the first step, staying true to yourself, and continuously evolving—that’s what real success looks like. At LPU, we encourage our students to carry that same mindset and to be bold, grounded, and forward-thinking, while upholding a strong value system that shapes them not just as professionals, but as individuals.
Vikrant also gave the audience a glimpse of his upcoming film Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan, an adaptation of Ruskin Bond’s “The Eyes Have It.” The film, developed in collaboration with the Blind Association of India, aims to portray the visually impaired community in a different light. “We’ve tried to tell this story in a way Indian cinema hasn’t attempted before,” he shared.
The “Voices of Bharat” series, in collaboration with Chaatra Sansad India, continues to bring iconic voices from across industries to LPU’s stage, creating a platform where experience meets aspiration and fueling the minds and hearts of India’s next generation.
