Toppers spent a day with DC and SSP

Under the “One Day DC/SSP De Sang” initiative launched by the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the topper students of class X and XII of government schools of the district today spent a day with senior officials Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh and SSP Bhagirath Meena, which inspired them to give the right direction to their dreams for their future.

On this occasion, class 12 students Khushpreet Kaur who scored 97.8 percent, Romika with 97.6 percent, Mehakpreet Kaur who got 97.4 percent and class tenth students Nurpreet Kaur with 98 percent, Navjot Kaur-97.6, Mannat Kaur-98 percent paid visit to the deputy commissioner and SSP.

Deputy Commissioner and SSP made the students aware of the government functioning and the role of public servants. Apart from the preparation for the civil services examinations Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh made the students aware of his journey and experience of becoming Deputy Commissioner. 

The Deputy Commissioner said that hard work, determination and patience are necessary to achieve high positions. He said that, it is also necessary to have good manners to provide administrative services to the people in a proper manner while sitting on such positions.

SSP Bhagirath Meena informed the students about the preparations of UPSC exam, his career and experience and asked them to choose their career of their own free will. He advised the parents who accompanied the students to give their children the opportunity to choose their career without any pressure or coercion. 

He said that the students manage to achieve their goals in those fields, in they have personal interests. During the interaction, the officers also shared with the students their personal struggles, achievements, and challenges. 

The children said that after visiting the office and residences of the DC and SSP they got deeper understanding of administration and public service. Apart from the interaction with the senior most officials the children were also taken to the Police Lines, Cyber Cell, Police Control Room, Women’s Cell and Saanjh Kendra where they were briefed in detail about the functioning of the police department.
