Tarunpreet Singh Sond calls upon Village Defence Committees to contribute in war against drugs to restore pristine glory

Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Tuesday exhorted the village defense committees to contribute towards the war against drugs to restore Punjab’s pristine glory. Presiding over Nasha Mukt Yatra meetings in the villages of Khattara, Baghaur, Majri, Rasulra, Ikolaha, and Narayangarh, Punjab Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond called for unified action to eradicate the drug menace and restore Punjab’s pristine legacy.
Drawing inspiration from the teachings of the ten Sikh Gurus, he emphasized that the drug problem can be eliminated permanently through collective resolve. It is our duty to eliminate this menace completely,” he said.
Sond highlighted the critical role of women in this mission, urging them to guide their children toward moral values. “Women must lead by example, steering the youth away from drugs and toward a righteous path,” he noted.
Acknowledging the efforts of law enforcement, Sond stressed that while the police are doing their job, we must all join hands to secure a drug-free future for our children. He praised the Yudh Nashya Virudh campaign, initiated by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, as a historic social movement.
He appealed to panchayats, youth, parents, and community leaders to join this cause, stating that this is our collective battle to restore glory of Punjab. During the events, Sond administered an oath for a drug-free Punjab, urging citizens to act as guardians of their villages.
