Sanjeev Arora to focus on industrial development and attracting maximum investment across Punjab

Sanjeev Arora was accorded a Guard of Honour at Circuit House this evening on his first visit to Ludhiana after taking charge as Cabinet Minister for Industry & Commerce, Investment Promotion, and NRI Affairs, Government of Punjab. A rousing reception awaited him as people from various walks of life, along with Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers, gathered to welcome him.

Addressing the media, Minister Arora expressed gratitude to AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for entrusting him with the responsibility of a cabinet berth. He said he would focus on comprehensive industrial development and attracting maximum investment across Punjab.

Responding to questions, he said several industrial issues have already been resolved over the past three years. He assured that all pending matters would be addressed promptly and any new issues would be resolved on a priority basis.

Highlighting a long-standing demand of Ludhiana’s industrialists, Arora said efforts are underway to identify suitable land for setting up an exhibition centre in the city. He emphasised that boosting the industrial sector would naturally enhance tax revenues.

On the status of Halwara Airport, the Minister said the airport is completely ready. Whenever approval is given by PMO, Halwara Airport will be operational. project is nearly complete, and its inauguration is expected soon.

Regarding NRI affairs, he informed that a departmental meeting is scheduled for the upcoming Tuesday. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring timely and hassle-free services for NRIs.

Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Amarjit Bains were also present on the occasion.
