Samba Admin convenes outreach camp at Tribal Village

The District Administration Samba has geared up to implement focused developmental initiatives under the Dharti Aaba Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan in the tribal villages of Rakh Barotian and Bari. The strategy for rollout of the campaign was finalized by Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma at a meeting held in the Administrative Complex the other day.
Keeping with the spirit of Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsha Abhiyan, the District Administration Samba conducted an extensive public outreach camp today at the tribal village of Rakh Barotian in Block Vijaypur, reinforcing its commitment to addressing grassroots concerns through direct engagement.
Led by Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma, a multi-departmental team of officials directly engaged with the tribal residents to enable them to present their developmental aspirations. The substantial turnout, comprising elders, youth, and community leaders, underscored the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap between administration and underserved communities.
“Our mission is to ensure that no community remains untouched by the benefits of development. The Abhiyan is aimed at ensuring that the tribal communities are provided the benefit of various welfare schemes and contribute to their standard of living,” stated DC Sharma.
The villagers articulated several pressing needs including critical infrastructure development, particularly road connectivity, enhanced healthcare services, and development of the dairy industry. Educational infrastructure upgrades, including smart classroom facilities at the local middle school were also given a priority.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the administration’s commitment to ensuring tribal welfare schemes reach every eligible household. “These are not just schemes on paper they are entitlements that must translate into tangible benefits for deserving families,” he remarked, instructing officials to conduct thorough verification of beneficiary lists.
In a notable focus on sustainable development, DC Sharma encouraged local youth to explore self-employment opportunities available through agro-allied initiatives and government schemes, highlighting the administration’s dual approach of addressing immediate needs while fostering long-term economic resilience.
The outreach camp reflects the District Administration’s progressive and inclusive governance model that prioritizes direct engagement, particularly with traditionally underserved communities, as the cornerstone of inclusive development.
The meeting was attended by district officers from various line departments such as Health, Education, Rural Development, Social Welfare, Jal Shakti among others.
