PPCB and Swaraj Industries Celebrate World Environment Day with Tree Plantation and Sustainability Drive

In a collaborative effort to promote environmental awareness, the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) and Swaraj Industries jointly organized a World Environment Day celebration on June 4, 2025, at Plant 1 in Mohali. The event marked the beginning of Environment Week and focused on the theme of “Ending Plastic Pollution.”

The celebrations began with a symbolic tree plantation ceremony, where officials from PPCB and Swaraj Industries planted saplings together, setting a green and inspiring tone for the day. To further engage employees and reinforce environmental values, a series of creative activities were organized by Swaraj Industries, including slogan writing, poster making, and rangoli competitions.

These events saw enthusiastic participation, fostering awareness and encouraging creative expression around environmental themes. Addressing the gathering, the Executive Engineer, Regional Office Mohali, Rantej Sharma emphasized the urgent need to eliminate plastic pollution and urged Swaraj Industries to work towards making its premises plastic-free.

The message resonated strongly with attendees, motivating a collective commitment to sustainable practices. Winners of the competitions were felicitated with prizes, while all participants were presented with eco-friendly gifts, including jute bags and saplings, as tokens of appreciation and encouragement.

The event concluded with a solemn oath-taking ceremony, during which employees and PPCB officials pledged to adopt environment-friendly practices and contribute actively to reducing plastic pollution. This collaborative initiative stands as a testament to the shared commitment of PPCB and Swaraj Industries towards a cleaner, greener future.
