Power Discoms must plan substations and poles with a vision for 2047 : Anil Vij instructs officers

Haryana Energy Minister Sh. Anil Vij today directed Energy Department officers to ensure that power Discoms establish substations and poles with a long-term vision for the year 2047. This approach aims to enable Haryana’s Energy Department to make a significant contribution to the country’s infrastructure development.
He emphasized that to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply to the state’s residents; the department must factor in weather conditions in all future planning.Sh. Vij was presiding over the High Powered Purchase Committee meeting of the Energy and Transport Departments today. Education Minister Sh. Mahipal Dhanda and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
Sh. Vij takes note of recent storms and unseasonal rainfall in the state, issues directives to officers
The Energy Minister took cognizance of the recent storms and unseasonal rainfall in the state and instructed officers that, in future, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) must be obtained from relevant authorities and departments before establishing any substations.
This measure is intended to ensure that substations and equipment are safeguarded against damage from disasters such as floods. In response, officers informed the Energy Minister that a committee has been formed to assess the damage caused by the recent storm and unseasonal rainfall, with senior officials and engineers sent to the affected sites for evaluation.

He said that, in line with Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India by 2047, substations and electric poles should be installed with careful and strategic planning. To achieve this, officials must maintain comprehensive weather-related data and coordinate closely with the Meteorological Department to ensure timely preparedness for uninterrupted electricity supply. Sh. Vij also emphasized the importance of implementing necessary engineering measures to prevent water accumulation in substations during heavy rainfall.
Approval granted for purchasing 17 dual-cabin trucks (7-seater) for electricity supply/maintenance work
In the meeting approval was granted to Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited for the purchase of 17 dual-cabin (7-seater) trucks for electricity supply and maintenance works.
Agency finalized for supply of materials related to tire repair/resoling
For the Transport Department, an agency was finalized and assigned the task of supplying pre-cured tread rubber, bonding gum and vulcanizing solution for bus tire repair. Notably, the Haryana Transport Department operates tire repair/resoling plants in Karnal, Gurugram and Hisar. It was apprised in the meeting that Haryana Roadways has become the first in North India to purchase BS-6 compliant buses, aiming to reduce environmental pollution.
