Police Officers Sensitise Budding Players of the Ill Effects of Drugs

As part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing campaign ‘Yudh Nasheya Virudh’, DSP City-2 Harsimran Singh Bal and SHO Sohana, Simran Singh interacted with budding football players at the Sports Complex, Sector 78, to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse. The players, including both boys and girls, from Saint Stephen School and GMADA Football Academy were briefed of the government’s initiatives against drug trafficking.
The officers urged the young athletes to support efforts aimed at eliminating drugs from Punjab. DSP Harsimran Singh Bal noted that the enthusiastic young footballers participated actively, raising slogans like “Jaago Jaago, Nashe Tiyago” to voice their commitment against drug use.
He further added that under the leadership of SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans, Mohali Police is conducting awareness drives in schools, neighborhoods, and sports grounds to steer youngsters away from drugs. DSP Bal encouraged the public to report any information related to drug smugglers via the anti-drug helpline at 97791-00200.
He assured that the identity of the informants will be kept strictly confidential.
