PEC Organizes Training Session on PFMS CNA Module to Promote Financial Governance and Transparency

Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh today organized a Training Session on PFMS Modules under the guidance of Public Finance Management System, Department of Expenditure, Controller General of Accounts, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India. This session was led by training officer Mr. Narinder Singh, provided guidance over the CNA scheme under PFMS. 

PFMS is a web-based online system developed by the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) to track and monitor fund disbursement and utilization under various government schemes.  The focus of the session was the Central Nodal Account (CNA) Module, which is a revised procedure for releasing, disbursing, and monitoring funds under Central Sector Schemes. 

Under this framework, a designated CNA, which opens a Central Nodal Account (CNA Account) in a scheduled commercial bank.  This account is used for all transactions related to the scheme, and the CNA is responsible for ensuring proper fund flow and management.  

PFMS serves as an online management information and decision support system for the Plan Schemes of the Govt. of India, with the goal of real-time monitoring of fund flow and expenditure. This training aligns with PEC’s commitment to capacity building and administrative excellence. 

With previous such sessions receiving positive feedback, the institution anticipates organizing more training initiatives in the future to enhance financial governance and digital literacy among stakeholders.
