PEC Fraternity marked 11th International Yoga Day 2025

The faculty, staff and the student body at Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) Chandigarh  enthusiastically celebrated the occasion of the 11th International Day of Yoga, by holding an early morning Yoga session. Director PEC, Prof. Rajesh Bhatia (Ad Interim), Registrar Col. R. M. Joshi along with Dr. D.R. Prajapati (DSA), Dr. Sandeep Harit (ADSA, Sports) engaged in invigorating yoga sessions with yoga teacher Ms. Priyanka Chauhan, conducting various yoga asanas, breathing exercises, and mindfulness practices, fostering a spirit of holistic health and stress management. 

The session was conducted by qualified Yoga Coach, Ms.Priyanka Chauhan. For the session, she followed the Yoga Protocol issued by the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unnani, Siddha and Homoeopathy. This protocol includes loosening practices to help increase microcirculation, 24 minutes of asanas started from Mantra Ucharan, Sukshma Vyam, Tadasana, Vrikshasan, Trikonasan, Vakrasan, Ardh Halasana, Bhujangsan, Setubhandh and in the last Nadi Shodhan, Sheetali, Bhramari and Pranayama to strengthen and balance the entire nervous system and harmonise and stabilise the practitioner’s state of mind, two variations of Pranayama which Enhance cognitive performance and increase mindfulness. She ended the session with meditation to relax and rejuvenate our body.

This event underlined PEC’s commitment to integrating wellness into educational ethos, emphasizing benefits of yoga  for academic and personal growth. Director, Prof. Rajesh Bhatia, encouraged the participants to adapt yogic lifestyles in their daily routine to deal with physical and mental stresses of our daily life. Later on, DSA, Dr. D.R. Prajapati expressed his gratitude towards all the faculty members, students, yoga teacher and yoga practitioners for their time and participation in this International event. Dr. Sandeep Harit also provided encouraging insights on the positive impact of yoga and meditation.
