Paralympic and Asian Games Medallists Meet Arti Singh Rao in Chandigarh

Under the aegis of Para Sports Association of Haryana, the Paris 2024 Paralympic and Asian Games medallists from Haryana met Para Sports Association of Haryana President and Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao at her residence in Chandigarh.

The players gave a written memorandum of demands to the minister, including cash prizes and jobs under sports quota. Responding promptly and positively, Arti Singh Rao assured all help to the players. She talked to Sports Minister Sh. Gaurav Gautam to resove the issue at the earliest. 

She also directed the Director General, Sports and Principal Secretary, Sports to initiate necessary steps to resolve the concerns raised by the para-athletes. The minister also met Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini later in the day and handed over a letter regarding the demands of the para-athletes.

Paralympic medallist Nitesh Kumar (Badminton), Harvinder Singh (Archery), Manish Narwal (Shooting), Navdeep Singh (Javelin Throw), Para Asian Medallist Kokila (Judo), Pooja (Athletics), Sarita (Archery), Ashok Malik (Powerlifter), Honey (Athletics) and other players were present in the meeting with the minister.

General Secretary, Para Sports Association of Haryana, Jyoti Kumar Chhabra, Treasurer Pawan Adhana and Secretary Surender Singh were also present on the occasion.
