Owner of Micky Kitchen and his accomplice booked for illegal sale of liquor to PG Accommodations

Tightening the noose against the illegal sellers and suppliers of liquor, the Excise Department in a joint operation with Kharar Police has arrested the owner of Micky Kitchen and his accomplice Krishan (both residents of Kharar) for illegal sale and supply of liquor to PG Accommodations. Divulging the details, Assistant Commissioner (Excise) Ashok Chalotra said that on the intervening night of 22.05.2025 and 23.05.2025, acting on secret information a raid was conducted by a team led by Vikas Kumar Bahtheja, Excise Inspector, Kharar, along with the Kharar police at Micky Kitchen, Landran Road, Kharar.

During the raid, 67 bottles of IMFL/IFL, 112 bottles, 40 cans, and 35 nips of Beer/RTD of various brands labelled with “For Sale in UT Chandigarh Only,” were recovered. On pleminary enquiry, it was revealed that the  owner of the chicken shop, Rakesh Kumar alias Micky, was found to be selling and supplying liquor to customers in nearby residential areas and to students residing in PG accommodations, particularly after midnight.

He procured the liquor from Chandigarh using his four-wheeler. The accused is a habitual offender involved in the illegal sale of liquor during late-night hours. An FIR No. 199 dated 23.05.2025 has been registered under Section 61 of the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 and section 112 of BNS relating to petty organised crime against two accused persons namely Rakesh Kumar alias Micky, S/o Surinder Kumar, R/o House No. 68, Golden City, Sector 10, near Anaj Mandi, Kharar and Krishan, S/o Jeet Lal Mahajan, SCF 513A, Sector 125, near Connect Office, Kharar, said DSP Kharar Karan Singh Sandhu.

He said that further investigation is underway to identify the backward linkage of the illegal liquor supply chain.
