No place for drug traffickers in Punjab : Tarunpreet Singh Sond

Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Tuesday stated that there is no place in Punjab for drug traffickers who destroy the youth. He noted that the Punjab government has already disrupted drug supply chains and imprisoned major drug lords besides demolishing illegal properties of traffickers.
Sond expressed these views while addressing Nasha Mukti Events in Nasrali, Jalajan, and Rohno Kalan villages. He highlighted that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, the Punjab government is waging a war against drugs to ensure the drug-free state.
He criticized previous governments for ignoring drug traffickers and providing them political protection, a fact well-known to the public. The Minister urged everyone to unite and intensify efforts to make this anti-drug campaign successful.
He appealed to Village and Ward Defense Committees and residents to conduct grassroots awareness activities to uproot the drug menace. He also encouraged families to bring loved ones trapped in drug addiction to government de-addiction centers, assuring that the government is committed to saving lives and providing opportunities for healthy living.
He also stated that the war against drugs can only be won through the combined efforts of the district administration, police, and the public. He also called for society’s active involvement to establish a drug-free Punjab in the future.
