Punjab Horticulture and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat on Friday chaired a review meeting with respect to development projects of the city wherein he directed the officials of Municipal Corporation Jalandhar to ensure timely completion of all the ongoing development projects in the city. Accompained by Mayor Vineet Dhir, Commissioner Jalandhar Municipal Corporation Gautam Jain, the Minister said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab Government was making concerted efforts to boost basic infrastructure in city.
He reviewed several key projects including road construction, water supply and Sewerage projects and directed the officials to lay special emphasis on cleanliness of sewerage lines, especially during monsoon season. He further directed the officials to ensure proper monitoring of all the works as any kind of compromise with the quality of roads and other projects will be highly unwarranted.
The Minister stated that the State Government was taking some path-breaking initiatives to provide better services to citizens. Meanwhile, ward councilors present in the meeting raised several proposals for new works in their respective wards.
The Minister further directed the officials to prepare detailed proposals for these new works so that they were started timely. Earlier, Mayor Vineet Dhir said that the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation was launching several key initiatives in the city to put city on a high growth trajectory.
