Mohinder Bhagat lays foundation stone for new road project in Geeta colony

Punjab Horticulture and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for the construction of new roads in Geeta Colony, marking the beginning of a much-awaited development project worth Rs. 27 lakh. Speaking at the inauguration, the Minister said the new roads will greatly benefit residents, especially after the area’s existing roads were dug up for laying water pipelines. 

He said the project fulfills a major local demand, long voiced by the people of Geeta Colony. Mr. Bhagat reiterated the Punjab Government’s commitment to holistic development under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, adding that adequate funds are being allocated to ensure timely and quality execution of all development works. 

“There is no dearth of funds when it comes to the welfare of the people and improving infrastructure”  he said. The Minister emphasized that the government is working on multiple projects to upgrade basic amenities, including roads, water supply, and street lighting across the state. 

He highlighted that the Geeta Colony road project is one such initiative that reflects the administration’s ground-level focus. He directed the concerned officials to personally monitor the construction work, ensuring high standards of quality and zero negligence. 

He warned that any lapse in quality would not be tolerated. Meanwhile, the residents, expressed gratitude for the swift government action addressing their concerns. Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included Satnam Kalair, Suresh Arora, Subash Goria, and Lalita Rani.
