Mohinder Bhagat Inaugurates Fire Station in Jalandhar Built at a Cost of Crores

Punjab Horticulture, Freedom Fighters and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat today inaugurated a new fire station at the local Sports and Surgical Complex in Jalandhar, constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 1.29 crore. The inauguration ceremony began with the recitation of Sri Sukhmani Sahib.
On this occasion, Mayor Vineet Dhir, District Planning Committee Chairman Amritpal Singh and Municipal Commissioner Gautam Jain were also present.Expressing his gratitude to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Cabinet Minister said that with the support of the Punjab Government, this project will assist in timely control of fire incidents.
Highlighting the significance of the facility, Mr. Bhagat said the area is known for its sports, surgical, leather, and rubber industries and having a fire station here will ensure a prompt response in case of any fire-related emergencies.The Cabinet Minister informed that the fire station is equipped with a total of four vehicles: one with a capacity of 12,000 litres, two of 6,000 litres each and one rescue tender.
Additionally, an underground water storage tank with a capacity of 1 lakh litres has been constructed, supported by a 20-horsepower motor.Mr. Bhagat emphasized that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is making continuous efforts for the development of the state.
He stated that the government is addressing the long-pending demands of the people in a systematic manner and is committed to strengthening the basic infrastructure of both urban and rural areas. He reiterated his commitment to making the city more beautiful through continued development works.
Mayor Vineet Dhir congratulated the residents on the establishment of the fire station and said this would further strengthen the administration’s capacity to tackle fire incidents. He also thanked the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, for executing this project worth crores of rupees.
On the occasion, Chairperson of the Fire Brigade Committee Davinderpal Kaur, Divisional Fire Officer Jaswant Singh Kahlon, officials and staff of the Municipal Corporation and Fire Brigade, as well as local industrialists, were present.
