MLA Yudhvir Flags off Addl Water Tankers to ease water crisis in East Constituency

In a major relief to the residents of water-scarce areas in the East Constituency, Senior BJP leader and MLA East Constituency, Yudhvir Sethi today flagged off seven additional drinking water tankers from the Shitlee Water Supply Station.
These water tankers have been pressed into service to ensure uninterrupted supply to areas like Jagti, Bajalta, Peralta, Aithem, Khanna Shargal (Upper and Lower), and other adjoining localities, which have been reeling under acute shortage of drinking water during the ongoing summer spell.
Addressing the media, Yudhvir Sethi said that the step has been taken after receiving multiple representations and appeals from the public facing tremendous hardship due to the irregular water supply. He assured that the BJP is committed to ensuring timely redressal of public grievances and that the current initiative reflects the party’s resolve to serve the people, especially during times of distress.
Sethi emphasized that access to clean drinking water is a fundamental necessity, and every possible measure is being taken to alleviate the suffering of the people. He urged residents to cooperate with the concerned departments and use water judiciously, especially during peak summer months when the demand is at its highest.
He also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Minister for Jal Shakti, the Commissioner Secretary Jal Shakti Department Shaleen Kabra, Executive Engineer, AEE, and other officials of the Jal Shakti Department who promptly acted on the matter and extended full cooperation in addressing the issue.
Their timely intervention and logistical support have made it possible to start the emergency tanker service in a short span of time.Sethi reiterated his commitment to continue working tirelessly for the welfare of the people and said that more long-term measures are being discussed to permanently resolve the water supply challenges in the region.
