Meet Hayer inaugrates new irrigation outlet at Kotha Guru

Member Parliament Sangrur Mr. Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer inaugrated the new irrigation outlet today at Kotha Guru Ka village that would enable farmers to irrigate around 120 acres of their fields using the canal water. Mr. Meet Hayer said that the outlet will irrigate farmland of Kotha Guru Ke and Mana Pindi villages. 

He congratulated the farmers of both villages and highlighted the Punjab government’s commitment to enhancing irrigation infrastructure. He credited Chief Minister Sh. Bhagwant Singh Mann’s administration for allocating substantial funds to ensure canal water reaches even the tail end.

“No previous government has undertaken such extensive irrigation projects in Barnala district,” Hayer stated.  He said that outlets were recently inaugurated in Bhure, Harigarh, Upli and Badbar, addressing long-standing issues in villages near the Harigarh canal, where fields previously lacked access to canal water. it will help farmers in saving the underground water table as they do not have to draw water from tubewells to meet their demand for irrigation.

Chairman improvement trust Barnala Ram Tirath Manna, Halka Incharge Harinder Singh Dhaliwal, Hasanpreet Bhardwaj, Gurjit Singh Ramanvasiya, SDO Water Resources Avtar Singh, panchayats members of Kotha Guru Ke and Mana Pindi village were present.
