Ludhiana Commissionerate Police and MCL demolish illegal properties belonging to three peddlers

The Ludhiana Commissionerate Police, in collaboration with Municipal Corporation demolished unauthorized properties owned by three drug peddlers facing multiple cases. The operation targeted their illegal constructions in New Harikrishna Colony, Indira Market, and Transport Nagar.

The demolition drive was executed under the  supervision of the Ludhiana Commissionerate Police and MC officials, ensuring full compliance with legal protocols and maintaining public order.The properties, illegally built on MC-owned land, belonged to Shekhar, Bimla, and her son Gurmeet. Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma stated that Shekhar faces six criminal cases, while Bimla and Gurmeet have five and three cases, respectively, registered across various police stations. 

He underscored the Punjab Government’s zero-tolerance policy toward drug trafficking, stating, “Under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, we are committed to eradicating the drug menace and protecting our youth.The CP also issued a stern warning to drug peddlers, urging them to abandon their illicit operations.
