Haryana Government creating new opportunities for youth in the IT Sector : Rao Narbir Singh

Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Rao Narbir Singh, has urged the youth to take full advantage of the Information Technology (IT) projects being implemented by the state government through HARTRON. He emphasized that the digital era has unlocked numerous opportunities for young people, and the Haryana Government is committed to empowering them to become capable and self-reliant.

Rao Narbir Singh made these remarks while chairing a review meeting of various schemes being run by HARTRON. During the meeting, Managing Director HARTRON, Dr. J. Ganesan, apprised the Minister of the ongoing initiatives in the IT sector.

Startups to get a boost: annual subsidy of Rs 1 Crore

During the review meeting, the Managing Director informed the Minister that under the Haryana Government’s ‘Startup Policy 2022, an annual subsidy of Rs 1 crore is being provided for the establishment of mobile application development centers. This initiative aims to foster innovation and promote technical entrepreneurship across the state.

IT skills training: 87 new centers, 25,000 students benefited

 To build a future-ready IT workforce, 87 new HARTRON Advanced Skills Centers will be established across Haryana. Currently, 10 centers are operational, offering IT training to over 25,000 youth each year.

SAFAL scheme for economically weaker students

Under the SAFAL scheme, financial assistance is provided to 1,000 students from economically weaker sections. The scheme offers a 75% fee waiver to eligible students and receives funding of approximately Rs 2.5 crore through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions and other sources.

IT Services and Training for Government Departments

The Managing Director informed the Minister that HARTRON serves as the nodal agency for not only providing data entry operators but also for the procurement of computers and IT equipment for various government departments. In addition, HARTRON collaborates with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) in developing departmental portals. 

He said that the Government employees are also being equipped with modern technical skills through HARTRON’s dedicated e-learning portal.Rao Narbir Singh said that the State Government aims to ensure that every youth in the state becomes skilled in the field of Information Technology and gains access to both employment and self-employment opportunities.
