Food Mela-No Fire Cooking’ organised at Rayat Bahra University

The Department of Life Sciences of Rayat Bahra University, in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club, organised a health-centric event “Food Mela – No Fire Cooking” to promote healthy and nutritious eating habits. Students from the Life Sciences and Food Science departments enthusiastically participated by preparing a wide variety of wholesome dishes, from sprout salads and fruit smoothies to nutritious sweets, offering something for every palate.
The event received an overwhelming response from the visitors who appreciated the creativity and nutritional value of the dishes. Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of the University, congratulated the participants for their outstanding efforts and emphasised the importance of developing entrepreneurial skills among students.
Prof SK Bansal, Dean Academic Affairs, and Dr Chander Prakash, Pro Vice-Chancellor, commended the initiative and encouraged the students to channelise their culinary talents toward startup ventures. Prof Simerjit Kaur, Dean of Student Welfare, said that the primary objective of the fest was to create awareness about healthy food choices and to inspire the public to adopt nutritious dietary habits.
