Dr. Ravjot Singh conducts surprise inspection in Kartarpur city, stresses cleanliness and timely project completion

Punjab Local Bodies Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh conducted a surprise visit to Kartarpur town on Tuesday morning to assess cleanliness arrangements managed by the Municipal Council Kartarpur. He was accompanied by MLA Balkar Singh and Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh.

During his inspection, Dr. Ravjot Singh visited multiple areas of the town and directed the Municipal Council officials to ensure daily and timely lifting of garbage, especially from locations where waste accumulates in large quantities. He emphasized there must be no delay in sanitation work to maintain a healthy urban environment.

The Minister also inspected the under-construction Gaushala being developed by Municipal Corporation Jalandhar and instructed that the project be completed within the stipulated timeline. He noted that the Gaushala would help resolve the issue of stray cattle, particularly on highways, thereby reducing the risk of road accidents.

Reviewing various ongoing and completed development projects in the city, including those near Gurudwara Gangsar Sahib, Dr. Singh issued directions for their swift execution. MLA Balkar Singh proposed new initiatives for Kartarpur’s development, which received the Minister’s approval for early commencement. 

The MLA stated highlighted key initiatives launched by the Municipal Council for the growth of Kartarpur City and also reiterated Punjab Government’s resolve to provide all the modern facilities to further strengthen the amenities in urban areas. The Minister reiterated the Punjab Government’s commitment to cleaner and better urban spaces and announced that similar inspections would be conducted across other cities. He also appealed to citizens to avoid littering and participate in keeping the city clean by disposing waste at designated sites.

Later, he held a meeting with Municipal Council officials to discuss pressing development concerns. Meanwhile, Additional Deputy Commissioner  (Urban Development) Jasbir Singh apprised the Minister about various projects executed by Municipal Council for the holistic development of Kartarpur city.
