Dirba Constituency on the Path to Electricity Revolution

Under the sincere efforts of Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, Dirba constituency is setting new benchmarks of development. Along with promoting education revolution and connecting individual farms with canal water, Dirba constituency is now leading the electricity revolution. Regarding this, Harpal Singh Cheema informed that priority is being given to improving electricity infrastructure to meet the electricity needs of Dirba constituency. 

A 66 KV grid has been commissioned in village Khadial at a cost of ₹3.50 crore, and a 66 KV grid has been constructed in village Karyal at a cost of ₹3 crore, which will be commissioned soon. Additionally, a 66 KV grid is being constructed in village Dhandoli Kalan at a cost of ₹4 crore, which is expected to be completed and commissioned within the next 5 months.

Cheema said that with the commissioning of these three grids, there will be a significant improvement in the electricity supply in Dirba constituency, benefiting both domestic and agricultural sectors. The Khadial grid will improve the electricity supply in villages Khadial, Ratolan, Chatte, Bigadwal, Taranjikhera, and Mahilan, while also providing relief to the Sunam, Sular, and Kular Khurd power houses.

Similarly, the Karyal grid will improve the electricity supply in villages Karyal, Dirba, Khetla, Dhuharh, Baras, Sihala, and Sajuman, while also providing relief to the 66 KV Dirba, Munshiwala, and Dayalgarh power houses. Cheema said that the area’s development is a top priority, and a 66 KV grid sub-station at Dhandoli Khurd has been approved. 

This grid will benefit the agricultural and domestic consumers in the area, including villages Dhandoli Kalan, Janal, Chhahad, Sular, Kemper, Sangtiwala, and Bhai Ki Pashaur. The commissioning of these grids will provide direct or indirect benefits to over 40 villages in the area. 

Additionally, a 20 MVA power transformer, which was 25 years old and in a dilapidated condition, has been replaced at the 66 KV Dirba sub-station before the paddy sowing season. Reiterating his commitment to the development of Dirba constituency, Harpal Singh Cheema said that education, canal water, and surplus electricity are essential for the comprehensive development of a region. 

He added that Dirba constituency will be developed on these lines and will be made one of the most developed constituencies in Punjab. On this occasion, XEN of PSPCL Dirba Division, Engineer Sukhwant Singh Dhiman, was also present.
