Delta Electronics India Honoured as ‘ESG Company of the Year’ at the National Conclave on Environmental Services 2025

Delta Electronics India, a leading provider of smart green solutions, has been recognized with the prestigious ‘ESG Company of the Year’ accolade at the National Conclave on Environmental Services, organized by the Services Export Promotion Council (SEPC) under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India.

The conclave valued how Delta Electronics India has long embedded ESG at the heart of its operations, from ensuring energy-efficient manufacturing at its Krishnagiri plant in Tamil Nadu to promoting sustainable supply chains and introducing clean energy solutions across India, broadly aligning with national and global sustainability goals.

Mr. Benjamin Lin, President of Delta Electronics India, said, “We express our gratitude to SEPC and the Ministry of Commerce for recognizing Delta India’s efforts in driving ESG leadership from India to the world. As India accelerates its transition to green infrastructure and energy systems, Delta remains a trusted partner in delivering solutions that not only meet performance goals but also support climate action.

Just a few weeks ago, we furthered these sustainability efforts by signing a power purchase agreement (PPA) for up to 9.6 million kWh of green electricity for our Krishnagiri manufacturing site.” Shri Sushil Kumar Awasthi, Special Secretary and Director General of Forests, Ministry of Environment, addressed the gathering and emphasized the role of cross-sector collaboration in building a resilient environmental services ecosystem in India.

Ms. Rachna Kango, Senior Director – ESG and Strategic Marketing, Delta Electronics India, said, “This recognition is a strong affirmation of our collective vision at Delta—to embed sustainability across every function, from product design to operations and community engagement. We’ve made consistent progress by aligning our ESG roadmap with global benchmarks and Indian priorities.

Going forward, we remain committed to not only reducing our carbon footprint but also to enabling our partners and customers to do the same.” Since 2021, Delta has implemented an Internal Carbon Pricing (ICP) mechanism for its global operations, setting an internal carbon price of US$300 per ton.

The funds support energy conservation, carbon reduction, renewable electricity generation, and low-carbon technology innovation projects. Delta also continues to meet its Science-Based Targets (SBT) net-zero milestones, showcasing the ICP mechanism’s impact on carbon reduction.

Delta India’s ESG achievements further reflect its comprehensive commitment to sustainability. Under Environment & Energy, Delta has committed to the SBT’s Climate Transition Plan with a goal of achieving 100% renewable electricity. The company has already installed 5.5 MW of rooftop solar across various Delta India locations and contracted 9.6 million units of wind-generated electricity for its Krishnagiri plant.

Additionally, the implementation of an auto tube cleaning system in chillers contributes to an annual savings of 613,200 kWh. In biodiversity, Delta joined the TNFD Forum, conducted its first biodiversity risk assessment, and became one of the world’s first Early Adopters in January 2024.

In the area of Water management, Delta India has established rainwater collection and reuse facilities at Krishnagiri, implemented water recycling and reuse at both factory and office locations, and constructed water recharge pits wherever feasible to support groundwater replenishment. Delta India also ensures that all waste generated is sent to authorized recyclers, completely avoiding landfill disposal.

The Company also adheres to India’s Extended Producer Responsibility regulations, which mandate recycling targets for plastics, batteries, and e-waste. For ISO 14064-1 GHG Accounting, Delta has been diligently accounting for greenhouse gases across Scope 1, 2, and 3 since 2018 and undergoes an annual reasonable assurance process to validate its GHG data.

Held in New Delhi, the National Conclave on Environmental Services 2025, the event served as a vibrant platform for discussing the future of India’s environmental services industry. With participation from honourable ministers, policy makers, industry leaders, and academic institutions, the event focused on advancing India’s capability in offering export-ready sustainable services, ranging from environmental consultancy, green credit and carbon trading, to ESG and CBAM compliance.
