DDC Anantnag Syed Fakhruddin Hamid reviews implementation of DAJGUA

To ensure holistic development and socio-economic upliftment of tribal communities in the district, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Syed Fakhruddin Hamid today reviewed the ongoing implementation of the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) in a meeting held today at the Dak Bungalow Khanabal.
The meeting was aimed at finalizing a comprehensive action plan for the upcoming Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign scheduled to be conducted from 15th to 30th June 2025 in tribal villages across the district.
During the meeting, DDC held an in-depth discussion with officers from all line departments to chalk out a clear roadmap for successful implementation of the campaign. He emphasized the importance of adopting a convergent approach where all departments work in synergy to identify and plug service delivery gaps at the grassroots level.
DDC issued instructions for the constitution of dedicated teams, comprising field-level officials from departments including Rural Development, Social Welfare, Health, Education, Revenue, and Tribal Affairs.
These teams will be responsible for visiting each household in the designated tribal areas, ensuring every eligible beneficiary is identified, documented and connected to relevant schemes.
He further directed all departments to complete preparatory activities well before the commencement of the campaign. These include the identification of gaps, mapping of tribal households and training of field functionaries involved in the awareness and data collection drives.
He also instructed concerned officers to maintain proper coordination and real-time reporting during the campaign to ensure timely rectification of bottlenecks and to maintain transparency and accountability throughout the process.
Hamid added that focused attention will be given to creating awareness among tribal populations regarding their entitlements and rights under various schemes through extensive IEC activities including nukkad nataks, pamphlets, wall paintings, announcements, and community meetings.
DAJGUA, a convergence-based initiative across 17 Union Ministries, targets the transformation of 63,843 tribal villages in 549 districts, impacting over 5.5 crore tribal citizens through 25 integrated interventions.
It is designed to ensure 100% saturation of all government welfare schemes in tribal areas by reaching every eligible household and bridging existing gaps in service delivery.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners, Sub Divisional Magistrates, Assistant Commissioners of Development and Revenue, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineers of KPDCL, Jal Shakti, Roads and Buildings and senior officials from other Departments.
