Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Municipal Committees (MCs) and the progress registered under various urban development schemes including FC grants, IDMT, MTMP, etc.
At the outset, the chair was apprised about the details of the various schemes under implementation in the urban areas of the district. It was informed that under UT, IDMT and other heads, 149 work projects have been taken up, out of which 129 works have been completed by the end of this financial year.
DC impressed upon all the concerned to work with zeal and dedication and scale up pace on all works. He emphasized speedy disposal of building permission in strict adherence to the rules and regulations.
EO MC Kulgam and Assistant Town Planner were instructed to implement the Draft Master Town Plan in letter and spirit and issue building permissions accordingly without any deviation. Ex. Engineer R&B was instructed to ensure start of work on all allotted works immediately and ensure their completion within stipulated time.
EO MC Kulgam was also instructed to ensure facilities/amenities including safe drinking water, shelter shed/passenger sheds for commuters/passengers, lights at the main bus stands at Kulgam Chawalgam for convenience of the general public.
Executive Officers also briefed the chair about the availability of machinery and manpower. The meeting was attended by ACR, CPO, Ex. Engineer R&B, AEEs, EOs of MCs Kulgam/Yaripora/Frisal/ Devsar and other officers.
