DC Kulgam Athar Aamir Khan chairs DLRC/DCC meeting

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today chaired the District level Review Committee / District Consultative Committee meeting (DLRC/DCC) to review the performance of Banks and Line Deptts. for the quarter ending March 31, 2025  under Annual Credit Plan and Govt. schemes.

Meeting was attended by RBI, NABARD, Distt Officers of line deptts and District Coordinators of various banks. LDM, Iftikhar Ahmad Padder revealed that the deposits of Banks stand at Rs 2526.01 cr as on 31.03.2025 witnessing growth of 11.25% over March 2024, Advances stand at Rs.2347.24 cr as on 31.03.2025 witnessing growth of 5.61% over March 2024.

The Credit Deposit Ratio of District Kulgam stood at 83.06%, quite above the National benchmark of 60%. It was informed that under the District Annual Credit Plan (2024-25) of Rs.1937.00 Cr, Banks have disbursed Rs.1767.64 Cr to 68124 beneficiaries during quarter Q4 ended March 31, 2025 thus achieving 91% of ACP target.

DC while reviewing sector wise achievements, instructed banks to improve credit dispensations in Agriculture, MSME, and more focus should be given to Farm Mechanization, Education and Housing and Renewable Energy sectors.

He directed the banks to ensure 100% saturation in KCC loans pertaining to Agriculture allied sectors besides timely disposal of all cases from the bank side. He stressed the need to enroll all KKGs as business units owing to their huge potential in reaching out to the farmers.

DC directed the concerned to hold financial literacy camps, simulations in all Colleges and Higher Secondary Schools of the district for the students to get first hand information regarding finances, accounting and other professional business modules.

The house was informed by the LDM that the district has achieved the targets of PMEGP, Artisans/Weavers Credit Card & PM Weavers Mudra scheme. The district has disbursed 337 vehicles till date under Mumkin scheme, 32 under Tejaswini cases and 65 cases disbursed under Spurring till date, with Kulgam district leading in UT of J&K.

DC instructed for proper & timely implementation of govt schemes PMEGP, REGP, NRLM & NULM in order to generate self-employment opportunities in the district. He impressed upon the line departments to cover all eligible persons under PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY.
