Commissionerate Police Jalandhar Strikes Major Blow To Narco-Terrorism Under ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh”

Under the state-wide anti-drug campaign “Yudh Nashian Virudh”, Commissionerate Police Jalandhar under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur busted a cross-border drug smuggling racket and arrested accused Shivam Sodhi alias Shiva with 5 kg heroin and drug money worth Rs. 22,000.

Divulging the details, CP Jalandhar said that, a team of CIA staff arrested Shivam Sodhi alias Shiva son of Varinder Sodhi, resident of House No. 54, Simran Enclave, near Lamba Village Chowk, PS Ramamandi, Jalandhar and recovered 5 kg heroin and ₹22,000 drug money from him. Taking action against the accused, FIR No. 122 dated 20.05.2025 under sections 21C-27A-61-85 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Division No. 8, Jalandhar.

CP Jalandhar said that three FIRs have already been registered against the accused, including:

• FIR No. 96 dated 11.05.2025,* under sections 109, 191(3), 190, and 3 BNSS, 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Basti Bawa Khel, Jalandhar. (The accused is wanted in this case)

• FIR No. 30 dated 07.04.2020,* under sections 25-54-59 Arms Act, 188, 212, 216 IPC, and section 22-61-85 NDPS Act, has been registered at Police Station Division No. 4, Jalandhar.

• FIR No. 127 dated 01.07.2020,* under Section 61-1-14 Excise Act, Sections 21, 22 NDPS Act, Sections 379B, 382, 482, 465, 468, 471, 120-B, and 216 IPC and Section 25 Arms Act, was registered at Police Station Bhargo Camp, Jalandhar.

Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur said that the antecedents of the accused are being thoroughly investigated to effectively dismantle the drug trafficking network_ .

Other major achievements of the Commissionerate Police Jalandhar

1. CIA staff successfully arrested one accused, Lovepreet Singh alias Love, son of Jagtar Singh, resident of village Bath, PS Jhander, Tehsil Ajnala, district Amritsar and recovered *403 grams of heroin* . Against whom FIR No.80 dated 18.05.2025 u/s 21-61-85 NDPS Act was registered at PS Division No. 1, Jalandhar.

2. In another significant success, Commissionerate Police Jalandhar arrested two accused – Akashdeep alias Akash and Gaurav Kapila – who were wanted under FIR No.96 dated 11.05.2024 u/s 109, 190, 191(3), 61(2), and 103(1) BNS as well as 25-54-59 Arms Act PS Basti Bawa Khel Jalandhar. 

The accused were arrested from Metro Town Society, PS Dhakoli, District Mohali. On their arrest, FIR No. 54 dated 20.05.2025 u/s 109, 132, 221, and 324(2) BNS and Section 25 Arms Act was registered at PS Dhakoli, Mohali. *2 pistols, 3 live cartridges and 6 spent cartridges were recovered* from the accused.
