CM Nayab Singh Saini meets newly elected members of Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in Chandigarh

A delegation of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (HSGPC) met Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini at his residence here today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the newly elected members of the committee and said this is a historic moment for the Sikh community. 

For the first time after the formation of the present government for the third time, the elections of HSGPC have been conducted peacefully. This committee will play an important role in the operation and management of Sikh gurdwaras in the state.

It is noteworthy that earlier, 40 members of the committee were elected. Now, 9 other members have been unanimously chosen, many of whom came to meet the Chief Minister today. During the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed hope that the delegation will do the work of ‘Guru Ghar’ with transparency and selflessness. 

The Chief Minister assured that the state government will provide all possible support to the committee so that it can work in the interest of the society and establish a unique identity for itself. The Chief Minister said whatever work will be done for the Sikh community through this committee will become a source of inspiration for the coming generations.

The delegation also put forward some suggestions related to the Sikh community before the Chief Minister, to which the Chief Minister responded positively and promised to fulfil them.Speaking on the issue of water, the Chief Minister said Punjab and Haryana are bound by the bond of brotherhood. We are all one. 

The Mann government of Punjab should not do politics on an issue like water. The water on which Haryana has a right should be given to it. He said there should be equal distribution of water in accordance with the teachings of the Gurus, so that everyone can get its benefit.

Senior representatives of the Sikh community, namely Sh. Jagdish Singh Jhinda, Sh. Baljit Singh Daduwal, Sh. Gulab Singh Munak, along with Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sh. Tarun Bhandari, and several other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
