Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attends State-Level Maharishi Kashyap Jayanti Celebrations

Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini today announced that a government institution in the state will be named in honour of Maharishi Kashyap. In addition, the Chief Minister also announced a grant of Rs 21 lakh each for the expansion of Kashyap Rajput Dharamshalas located at the pilgrimage sites of Kurukshetra and Kapal Mochan.

The Chief Minister was addressing the gathering at the state-level celebration of Maharishi Kashyap Jayanti, held under the ‘Sant-Mahapurush Vichar Samman and Prasar Yojana’ in Ladwa, Kurukshetra district.On this occasion, he also declared that a square in Ladwa will be named after Maharishi Kashyap.

He further announced that a plot will be given for the construction of a Kashyap Rajput Dharamshala in Ladwa, Kurukshetra or Indri, subject to a feasibility assessment. He assured that all other demands presented would be referred to the relevant departments to assess the feasibility so that they can be fulfilled on a priority basis.

Praising Maharishi Kashyap as a beacon of Indian culture and spirituality, the Chief Minister said, “Muniraj Kashyap provided a new direction to human civilization through his wisdom, penance, and scholarly works. Texts such as the Smriti Granth and Kashyap Samhita continue to guide society. His inspirational legacy will always illuminate the path for humanity.”

While paying tribute to Maharishi Kashyap, Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that the Kashyap community has a rich and glorious history dating back to ancient times. During the Ramayana era, it produced powerful rulers such as King Nishad, who offered shelter to Lord Shri Ramchandra Ji during his exile. The community also made significant contributions to India’s freedom movement.

He said that the Kashyap community has made a significant contribution to nation-building by upholding the ideals and principles of Maharishi Kashyap Ji. Referring to the recent Operation Sindoor, he said that following this tragic incident, Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi pledged that those responsible for attacking innocent civilians would face decisive retribution  and that the time had come to eliminate the last traces of their presence. 

In line with this commitment, strong action was taken to destroy terrorist hideouts. He said that through the courage of brave individuals like you, India sent a strong message to both the terrorists and to Pakistan, which shelters them. He added that the entire world is amazed with the bold decision-making of Prime Minister Modi and the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces, which is equipped with modern technology.

The Chief Minister further said that Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi has set an ambitious goal of transforming India into a developed nation, a global leader, and a cultural superpower by the year 2047. Expressing confidence, he stated that the Kashyap community will play a pivotal role in achieving this vision.

Mission Antyodaya: Empowering the Poorest

Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that the State Government is fully committed to spreading the messages and teachings of great spiritual and historical figures through the Sant-Mahapurusha Samman Vichar Prasar Yojana. In order to realize their vision of equality and social justice, the present government is implementing a range of welfare schemes aimed at uplifting the most underprivileged sections of society.

Highlighting the initiatives being undertaken for the welfare of poor and backward classes, the Chief Minister said that over the past ten and a half years, the State Government has consistently worked to empower the poorest families, guided by the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Prayas.

He said that students from backward classes are now entitled to 27 percent reservation in educational institutions. In addition, the income limit defining the creamy layer for backward classes has been raised from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8 lakh per annum.

The Chief Minister also shared various initiatives being undertaken for the welfare of farmers across the state. He said that after forming the government for the third consecutive term  with significant support from the Kashyap community in the last general elections, the government has been working swiftly toward the all-round development of the state. Of the promises made in the Sankalp Patra, 19 have already been fulfilled, and the remaining 90 will be fulfilled soon.

Kashyap Community has a Glorious History – Ramkumar Kashyap

Presiding over the function, MLA Sh Ramkumar Kashyap welcomed Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini and expressed his gratitude for his presence. He emphasized the proud and glorious history of the Kashyap community, highlighting that during the Ramayana era, illustrious figures such as Raja Nishad and Bhakt Prahlad emerged from this community. 

He also mentioned Bhai Himmat Singh Kashyap, one of the Panj Pyare of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, also from the community. Extending his heartfelt greetings on the occasion of Kashyap Jayanti, he urged the Chief Minister to address the demands presented by community representatives.

State Government is connecting the last person to the mainstream – Krishna Kumar Bedi

Speaking at the event, Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Sh Krishan Kumar Bedi said that the great thoughts of our revered personalities have always aimed at the welfare of the entire human race. He said that the current State Government is consistently working with the spirit of Antyodayato uplift the poorest and most marginalized. 

He said that the government has launched several initiatives to bring even the last person in society into the mainstream. He praised Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini as a true advocate for the underprivileged, saying his doors are always open to the people. He also expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for participating in the Maharishi Kashyap Jayanti celebrations.

MLA Jagmohan Anand, former minister Subhash Sudha, BJP District President Tejinder Goldy, and various other dignitaries and community representatives were also present on this occasion.
