A Step Towards Drug-Free India — CGC Jhanjeri Organizes Anti-Narcotic Cyclothon 2025

Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Jhanjeri, Mohali, in collaboration with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Chandigarh Zonal Unit, organized the Anti-Narcotic Cyclothon 2025 on the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The cyclothon was flagged off by Chief Guest Mr. Sambit Mishra, IRS, from NCB Zonal Headquarters, Mohali.
In his address, he emphasized the urgent need for a drug-free India and highlighted the importance of collective efforts by society. Distinguished guests present on the occasion included Mr. Amanajit Singh, IRS, Additional Director, NCB Chandigarh; Mr. Sunil Kumar, Indian Handball Coach & Former AIU Player; Mr. Suresh Kumar, Former Pro Kabaddi League Player; Mr. Amandeep Singh, Steelman of India & MMA Fighter; and Mr. Mandeep Kaushik, District Sports Officer. More than 300 cyclists, including students, faculty, professional riders, and sports enthusiasts, participated in the rally.
The cyclothon started from Sector 66, Mohali, and concluded at CGC Jhanjeri campus. The route was adorned with banners and slogans spreading awareness. Hydration and safety checkpoints were arranged along the way. With each pedal, participants spread the message: “Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs.”
A felicitation ceremony was held at CGC Jhanjeri where top performers in both men’s and women’s categories were honored, and all participants were awarded e-certificates.On this occasion, CGC Jhanjeri’s Managing Director, Arsh Dhaliwal, said that We believe it is our moral responsibility to make the youth aware of the harmful effects of drugs.
This cyclothon was not just an event but a symbol of our collective commitment towards building a drug-free society. The NCB team specially appreciated the management and dedicated sports department of CGC Jhanjeri.
